AH HA Solutions is one of eight finalists in the 2026 Local Lift Innovation Challenge, and our College Autism Summit poster has a date.
In July we said August was about shaping the door students walk through to enter LuminousPath. We shaped it, we built it, and then one of us walked through it as a student.
Before the build, two things arrived this month that we want to share.
Two Pieces of Good News
United Way of Tarrant County selected AH HA Solutions as one of eight finalists in the 2026 Local Lift Innovation Challenge. We joined the first Local Lift cohort at its kickoff on August 13. The program runs eight weeks, with sessions on organizational design, financial modeling, and pitch skills, and a dedicated SCORE mentor. It ends with a live pitch event on November 13, during Global Entrepreneurship Week, where the eight finalists pitch for a share of $75,000 in seed funding.
Local Lift backs solutions for ALICE families across Tarrant County: households that are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed. That fit matters to us. The students LuminousPath is built for are often the ones whose families can't buy specialist support by the hour.
The second piece of news came from the College Autism Network. Our poster, LuminousPath: Adaptive AI Tutoring Designed for Autistic and Neurodivergent College Students, is confirmed for the 2026 College Autism Summit in Baltimore on Monday, November 9, from 5:00 to 6:15 pm. Misty Hogg, our co-founder and pedagogical lead, is the lead presenter.
The two rooms are different, and we need both. Local Lift puts LuminousPath in front of the funders and civic leaders who decide what gets backed in North Texas. The Summit puts it in front of the people who work with autistic college students every day.
The Intake, as Built
The July issue described a two-stage intake. That is what shipped.
Stage one is the support request. A student, or someone helping them, opens a record with the basics.
Stage two is the conversation. The student and an intake worker sit down together, and LuminousPath leads a guided conversation, one question at a time, in short turns of a sentence or three. The intake worker stays through the whole conversation and through the student's first session after it.

From those answers, the platform writes a first-draft teaching profile: how this student learns best, and what helps them recover when things fall apart.
The word draft is doing real work in that sentence.
A Profile That Stays a Draft
Intake is one conversation on one day. Students describe themselves the way they think they are, and sometimes the way they wish they were. So LuminousPath treats the intake profile as a starting point, and August added a second engine to keep it honest.
After every session, the platform reviews what actually happened: where the student asked for smaller steps, where they wanted the whole picture first, where they got stuck. Evidence accumulates across sessions. When enough of it points the same way, the profile updates. The review runs after the session, never during it, so nothing changes under a student while they're working.
This is the part of LuminousPath we've been calling the living intake. August built it and switched it on. September is where it starts to earn its name.
Intake is one conversation on one day. Everything after it should be allowed to change the platform's mind.
The First Student
Misty is a student herself. In late August she became LuminousPath's first real student, going through the intake and the sessions after it on the live platform, with her own coursework and her own deadlines.
She found problems. A question asked twice. A date the platform got wrong. A step that took two tries when it should have taken one. Every one of them is fixed, and every one was cheaper to find with someone who could tell us exactly what went wrong.

Join the Fall Beta
The LuminousPath beta opens the first week of October with a founding cohort of about 20 college students. Participation is free during the beta.
If you're a college student who learns differently, or you work in a disability services office and know one, the interest list is open.
Joining the interest list does not guarantee a place in the beta.
September Focus: Listening First
September is the month LuminousPath starts learning from students instead of from us.
The living profile gets its first real evidence. The tutoring session gets finished ahead of the October beta. And we begin the next round of work with Misty on the parts of her teaching that live in pictures rather than words.
The fortress in our Year One illustration has a courtyard between the inner walls and the mountain. That's September. Before the climb, a quiet place to listen.
August drew the blueprint. September listens.
